Camera Operations Level 2 (CVQ)

Who is this qualification for?

This qualification is for individuals working in the film industry or in television broadcasting in the production of television shows, motion pictures, music videos, documentaries, video blogs, news and sporting events, for example: 

  • Camera Operators
  • Videographers
  • Cinematographers
  • Production Crew Workers
  • Audio Visual Technicians
  • YouTubers, Social Media Video Bloggers and Commentators

This list is not exhaustive and only serves to illustrate the breadth of the qualification.

How it is structured?

To be awarded this Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ), candidates must successfully complete all mandatory units.

What does it covers?

The mandatory units include: 

  • Collect information and develop shooting Ideas
  • Recce locations
  • Coordinate use of production’s lighting resources
  • Design lighting for camera
  • Prepare equipment to modify and control light
  • Provide monitors for camera shoot
  • Set lighting to achieve desired effect
  • Coordinating crew to position camera
  • Monitor final picture quality and vision control
