Fishing Vessel Operations Level 3 (NVQ)

Qualification Overview
This qualification is designed to provide training, assessment and recognised certification for persons in the fisheries sector. Candidates must be able to carry out vessel operations, including dealing with onboard emergencies, maritime communications and navigation, search and rescue operations and handling fishing gear.

Who is the qualification for?
This qualification is aimed at persons who have some knowledge of seamanship, and are autonomous and responsible enough to perform tasks independently and as part of a team. The base skills are such that progression can be made to higher levels within the maritime world of work.
