appointed by an approved centre who check that candidates are
assessed consistently by that centre.

Key
Role
|
Key
roles are the broadest descriptions of the activities within the
occupational sector/industry required to fulfill its
key purpose.
They describe the principle components of work and are generally
associated with group activities.

Key
Purpose
|
A
functional description of the entire occupational sector (or
industry) stated in outcome terms. It should be capable of
describing the occupational sector, organisations which operate
within the sector, key groups or departments in the
organisations as well as the expectations of individuals.

Lead
Body
|
This
is an organisation, appointed by the Government, which
represents industry. Specifically, it is responsible for
the specification of national standards, national vocational
qualifications, and their maintenance and update.

|
Organisational
Requirements
|
Refers
to instructions to staff on policy and procedures (including the
application of legislation to workplace situations), which are
documented in memo or manual format, and are available in the
workplace.

|
Performance
Criteria
|
As
part of the element, the Performance Criteria indicates what is
required to achieve the element. The range and underpinning
knowledge is built onto this.
|
|
Policies
|
Refer
to guideline or decision rules developed to ensure consistency
in dealing with sales and/or service issues in keeping with the
organisation's strategic direction.
|
|
Range
Statements
|
The
range puts the element of competence into context. A range is a
description of the range of the situations, which is an element
and its performance criteria is intended to apply.
|

Underpinning
Knowledge
|
The
Underpinning Knowledge indicates what knowledge is essential for
a person to possess in order to successfully achieve an element
and prove competence.
