• NVQs are different from traditional qualifications. They are based, not on what people know and can reproduce in an examination, but on what people can do and demonstrate at work.
  • In traditional qualifications, only part of the curriculum is learned and assessed. In an NVQ, everything that is specified in the qualification must be achieved and assessed.
